Longtime environmental activist and educator Don Griffin passed away on November 23.
Don championed clean air and water and habitat preservation in Southeastern Michigan for the past 25 years through his work with the Friends of the Rouge and the Friends of the Detroit River.
Don's efforts were acknowledged by the Great Lakes Aquatic Habitat Network & Fund Grassroots Citizen Advocate Award in 2005 and the Michigan Environmental Council Petoskey Prize in 2006.
Don is survived by his wife Laurine, his partner in his environmental work, and three adult children.
