Many thanks to Michigan legislators, local officials and Great Lakes groups, who together with Canadian organizations and First Nation communities pressed for an independent scientific panel review by the Canadian Ministry of Environment, of this outrageous scheme to put so-called "low" and "intermediate" levels of nuclear waste from 20 Ontario Power Generation nuclear plants into a deep underground dump, less than one mile from Lake Huron, directly across from Michigan on the Ontario side. - Kay Cumbow
