E-M:/ Re: Last Chance to influence recreation at Huron Clinton Metroparks

Enviro-Mich message from "Larry D. =?iso-8859-1?b?Tm9vZOlu?=" <ldnum@umich.edu>

For all the many of you who participated in this- Many thanks and
Happy New Year.

Know that you made a difference. The Huron-Clinton Metropolitan
Authority Parks (SE Michigan) contain many wonderful natural areas, a
last bastion of what was in this region for future generations to see,
enjoy and learn from. There are many pressures to develop this land
and to allow tranquility- and environment-disrupting uses. This
system, like other park systems, needs appreciation and support when
they do right thing environmentally, and they certainly have made
outstanding contributions with their nature centers/interpretive

I think there will be more needs/opportunities to make an input. If
anyone is interested in helping, there is a small, low-key organization
Clinton-Huron Ecological Coaltion (CHEC)that represents many regional
organizations and speaks on behalf of the HCMA's natural features.
Anyone who is interested in getting involved a little or a lot, please
contact me by return e-mail. Larry Noodén
