Ag Department Seeks Input on Agricultural Management Practices
LANSING - The Michigan Department of Agriculture is seeking public comment on proposed revisions to the state's Generally Accepted Agricultural and Management Practices (GAAMPs). Under the Michigan Right to Farm Act, all farm operations must conform to GAAMPs in order to receive nuisance protection. GAAMPs are reviewed annually and updated as needed.

WHERE:Michigan Library and Historical Center Lake Superior Room 702 West Kalamazoo Street Lansing, MI 48933
WHAT: Public comment will be sought on all GAAMPs and changes are proposed for the following: Manure Management and Utilization; Site Selection for New and Expanding Livestock Production Facilities; Cranberry Production; Pesticide Utilization and Pest Control; Irrigation Water Use; and Nutrient Utilization; and Care of Farm Animals.
Written comments may also be submitted by 5 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2007, to martintm@michigan.gov or the following address:
