AWARD RECIPIENTS RECEIVE RECOGNITION FOR THEIR RECYCLING AND WASTE REDUCTION 
EFFORTS

On Friday, April 13, 2007, the Tri-County Waste Reduction Awards Program 
(WRAP) celebrated its fifth anniversary with an awards ceremony held at the 
Cadillac Club in Lansing.

Six local individuals and businesses were honored for their outstanding 
efforts to recycle and reduce their waste.

Fox 47 Meteorologist, Todd Klaassen was the emcee during the event and 
award-winning author and environmentalist Dave Dempsey presented an 
inspiring message to the 50 guests present at the ceremony.

The mission of WRAP is to publicly acknowledge residents, businesses, 
governments, educational institutions and non-profit organizations in 
Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties that have exemplary waste reduction and 
recycling practices and encourage others in the community to increase their 
efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle.

To date, 52 local businesses, non-profit organizations, schools, government 
offices and individuals have been honored for their exemplary pollution 
prevention practices.  For a complete list of this year?s awards recipients,
