Officials brush off environment

On Jan. 15, the Traverse City Commission voted unanimously, to applause, to adopt and support the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, ranking them among the visionary municipal leaders of this nation.

At a March 14 Physical Resources Committee meeting, the Grand Traverse County Board of Commissioners was presented with the same agreement and a request to support it. Consider these responses from three commissioners:
