E-M:/ Energy Efficiency for Home Building NEXT FRIDAY

Energy Efficiency for Home Building
Friday, June 8, 2007, 8-11AM

If you’d like to better understand the dollars and sense of building an energy efficient home, Recycle Ann Arbor, AIA Huron Valley, and Washtenaw Community College invite you to attend a morning seminar titled “Energy Efficiency for Home Building” on June 8th from 8-11AM. This event is being held at Washtenaw Community College.

Patrick Houle, president of Diamond Environmental Solutions and an experienced local Home Energy Rater, will evaluate the cost-effectiveness of energy design guidelines. The workshop will present the following information to homebuilders, architects, code officials, and homebuilding enthusiasts: 1) how to best satisfy building energy codes, 2) how to qualify for Energy Star designation (and incorporate Energy Star-rated products), 3) how to learn about Building America best practices, and 4) how to qualify for the new federal tax credits.

Please join us for a very important discussion on better building through energy efficiency. Registration is $10 for this event, and is required. AIA members will receive continuing education credits for attendance. A continental breakfast will be provided. For more information regarding content, registration fee, or any other questions, please contact Jason Bing at (734) 662-6288 or jason@recycleannarbor.org.
