Vreba-Hoff also is
ordered to reduce its herd of cows
Michigan regulators have run
out of patience with Vreba-Hoff Dairy LLC, for what they see as blatant,
continued abuses of laws intended to protect waterways - and will be less likely
to compromise this time around, Robert McCann, state Department of Environmental
Quality spokesman, said yesterday.
The Michigan Attorney General's Office on Wednesday fined the company
$141,500 and ordered it to thin out its 6,050-cow herd by 350 animals because of
several new violations at its two concentrated animal feeding operations, or
CAFOs, both south of Hudson.
