Sierra Club Pick-up & Paddle

3rd annual river clean up and river ride focuses on the harms of non-point source pollution

WATERFORD– This Sunday, Sierra Club members and volunteers will be pulling on their waders in an effort to protect the Clinton River and maintain it as a place for community members to fish and swim. Volunteers with the Sierra Club meet regularly in Waterford to discuss ways to keep Michigan’s water clean and safe and welcome the public to join this event to learn more.

Participants will not only learn about the harms of trash deposited into the river, but will also learn more about non-point water pollution like pesticides and septic tank overflows.

Kayaks are available for rental with an RSVP and check made out to Sierra Club for $40.  Checks can be sent to Sierra Club at 1723 W 14 Mile Rd, Royal Oak, MI 48073 by Friday, October 5, 2007.
