SIERRA CLUB JOB ANNOUNCEMENT -- Southeast Michigan Office

Associate Regional Representative 
Royal Oak, Michigan

The Sierra Club, the nation's oldest, largest and most influential
grassroots environmental organization, is seeking a dynamic, dedicated
individual for the position of Associate Regional Representative based in
Oakland County, Michigan and serving the Midwest region. Responsibilities
include coordination of the Building Environmental Community citizen
advocacy campaign and other conservation programs with a focus on clean
energy and water quality. This position participates in development of
strategies and programs, implements grassroots education and media
campaigns, and coordinates visibility strategies. Works in close cooperation
with volunteer leaders and staff. Trains activists, participates in
electoral campaign activity, lobbies and represents Sierra Club to the

Interested candidates should have BA/BS in an environmental, political
science or related field, at least 1-2 years' experience in grassroots
organizing, coalition building, media relations, political campaigns and
team leadership. Strong demonstrated communications skills, knowledge and
background in environmental issues, demonstrated ability to work effectively
with volunteers and to mobilize community activism.
