Environmental, Labor Coalition to Release Report Detailing Potential for Thousands of New Jobs for Michigan from Renewable Energy Manufacturing

Groups Call on Congress to Pass Renewable Energy Legislation to Benefit Michigan

WHAT:           Michigan’s Road to Energy Independence,” a new report from the Blue Green Alliance details the thousands of new jobs that can be created from renewable energy manufacturing. Michigan can directly benefit from clean energy by manufacturing wind turbines, solar panels, and other renewable energy equipment right here in state.  Right now Congress has the opportunity to flip the switch and bring America’s new clean energy future to life.  In order to do this and help Michigan fully realize the economic and environmental benefits of the new energy economy, it is essential that Congress include the 15% by 2020 Renewable Electricity Standard passed by the house in its final energy bill.
