Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision(SDEV) a community based, environmental organization, is seeking dedicated individuals to fill the following job openings:
 
Position: Clean and Green Program Manager
This position is responsible for management of activities related to implementing SDEV?s Clean Neighborhoods Initiative including working with residents and youth to identify neighborhood blight and illegal dumping problems and developing action plans to address these issues, coordinating clean up and beautification events, maintaining knowledge of city ordinances and enforcement policies on illegal dumping, researching and promoting strategies for illegal dumping prevention and promoting them through education and outreach.
Interested candidates should have a background in environmental studies, social work or related field, at least 1-2 years of experience in community organizing and volunteer management, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Spanish fluency preferred.

Position:   Air Quality Program Manager
The program manager is responsible for spearheading community education  efforts on air quality issues including gathering and synthesizing existing data and studies on air pollution in Southwest Detroit and South Dearborn, researching risk reduction activities, preparing educational presentations and written materials for residents, and researching air emission impacts of proposed new emission sources and engaging in advocacy efforts to ensure air impacts are minimized.  The program manager also coordinates the activities of the Southwest Detroit/South Dearborn Environmental Collaborative, a multi-stakeholder collaborative working to identify, rank and mitigate environmental toxins in the community.
Interested candidates should have an educational background in environmental studies, public health or related work experience, 1-2 years of experience in community outreach and education, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Some knowledge of air quality issues and fluency in Spanish are a plus.
