Review of current Southern Michigan weather forecasts for the period
of Saturday through Wednesday (01/04-09/2008) indicates weather
conditions likely to lead to significant water pollution throughout 
southern lower Michigan from agricultural sources.

Forecasts indicate both warming trends beginning Saturday combined with 
40-50% rain probability events through the period.   Temperatures are 
expected to reach the upper 40's to 50's by early next week, together with 
predictions of up to 50% rain probability.   The combined effect of 
recent heavy snows, a massive melt and expected heavy rain events
will likely lead to heavy agricultural-related pollution events during the 
next week.

These weather conditions are likely to cause significant agricultural field
runoff of both soils and previously applied, non-incorporated animal waste
during the next week.

Citizen activists should be prepared for observation, photography and 
sampling of field effluents during this time in support of environmental 
compliance activity involving CAFO animal waste spreading fields and 
breaches of soil conservation best management practices.
