National Wildlife Federation, America’s conservation organization
passionate about protecting wildlife for our children’s future, is
seeking a dynamic and dedicated worker to serve as Program Assistant. 
This person will be responsible for:

Providing administrative, secretarial, and financial support services
for the Leslie Science & Nature Center (LSNC) as part of a formal
partnership between the National Wildlife Federation’s Great Lakes
Center and the Leslie Science & Nature Center. 

●	Provide administrative support to LSNC Executive Director, staff
and LSNC office including but not limited to: answering  calls; greeting
the public in person to provide information and customer service;
opening, routing and responding to correspondence; photocopying, faxing
and filing;, -,; data entry including use of LSNC’s Kintera database;
scheduling LSNC programs and providing timely confirmation notices;
maintaining donor records and sending out renewal notices; maintain
working relationship with NWF IT department to resolve network and
computer maintenance issues; maintain office equipment and secure
maintenance vendors for telephone and office equipment as needed;
purchase and stock office supplies. Assist with recruitment and
coordination of volunteers involved in LSNC programs and events.
Participation in LSNC & NWF staff meetings, activities, policies as
●	Provide financial support services for LSNC, including but not
limited to assisting Executive Director with maintaining office budget
and expense information; working with office director to track and
allocate expenses; preparing all bills for payment and paying all bills
on time.  Reconciling funds received for programs and depositing money
at bank; maintaining financial records and providing reports as needed;
processing payroll forms for temporary employees hired by LSNC. 
●	Provide marketing support in implementation of LSNC programs
including but not limited to assisting Executive Director with
developing a marketing plan and goals for LSNC programs; implementing
marketing programs by generating press releases, media advisories,
postcards and by preparing web content for distribution. 

●	Minimum 3 years of administrative experience required; associate
degree in business or secretarial science preferred, or equivalent
combination of education and experience.  Experience in marketing
preferred.  Demonstrated experience in office procedures and providing
financial support. Criminal background check required for staff working
with camps. 
●	Experience working with window based computer systems required;
including proficiency with WWW, e mail, Word, Excel, Access and
financial and other software (experience with QuickBooks a plus). Budget
preparation experience preferred.
●	Excellent written and verbal communication skills with superior
organizational skills, including information management and the ability
to juggle several diverse tasks simultaneously required; commitment to
teamwork as well as the ability to work independently required; ability
to work effectively with diverse constituencies, in person, via
telephone and E mail required; ability to maintain confidentiality
required. Problem solving skills needed.
●	Interest in environmental education and working for a non-profit
