Each
year the Michigan Recycling Coalition (MRC) recognizes individuals, businesses,
and organizations throughout the state for innovative recycling, composting,
and waste management education programs. By recognizing and publicizing
innovative programs, the MRC hopes to increase the effectiveness and profile of
resource recovery efforts in -Recycling Program -Commercial/Institutional Recycling -Special Event Recycling -Composting Program -Materials Processing -Special Collections -School Recycling -Public Education -Service Provider -Reuse The “Recycler of the Year” Award recognizes an
individual, community, business, or group that provides outstanding leadership
in waste reduction and recycling in their region or field. The “Spotlight Recognition” is for one-time
projects, programs, or events that illustrate effective, creative and
innovative program efforts. The nomination form is available at michiganrecycles.org.
Deadline for submissions will be April 15, 2008. Winners will be
announced at the 26th Annual Conference and Recycling Business Expo
at the Park Place Hotel in The MRC is a non-profit environmental
organization whose mission is to foster effective resource use in Michigan by
developing, supporting and educating a coalition of business, government,
non-profit and individual members working toward the common goals of waste
reduction, recycling, reuse, composting and recycled-content purchasing. Winners from 2007 include: Recycler of the
