Rane, On top of your comment, do you have any idea how much added energy that it takes to put the CO2 back into the ground ? While the objective to reduce CO2 may be admirable, the scope of some of our solutions doesn't always address all the factors. Thanks for the posting!

The process removes carbon dioxide from the raw natural gas coming out of the ground (CO2 concentration in that varies - generally 0 to 8% or so), reducing it to less than 2% in the gas provided to consumers. This has always been done, but formerly that CO2 was released to the atmosphere. However pumping it back underground still does nothing to reduce the CO2 released to the atmosphere by the ultimate burning of the combustibles in the natural gas. The latter far exceeds the CO2 removed in processing the gas.
