Subject: Comment Period for MDEQ Mercury Strategy Staff Report has been
extended until April 16, 2008

On January 30, 2008, the MDEQâ??s Mercury Strategy Workgroup (MSWG),
consisting of MDEQ staff from the air, water, pollution prevention and
remediation programs, released the MSWG Staff Report and its Appendices.
This comprehensive mercury strategy includes 67 recommended actions
towards the goal of eliminating mercury contamination in Michigan and
identifies the MSWG's top 10 priority actions. In addition, a 60-day
Notice of Public Comment Period was announced (until March 26, 2008) to
assist the MSWG in identifying partnerships for involvement in
implementing the recommendations and which actions should receive
priority attention.

Per the request of interested stakeholders, the public comment period
has been extended to April 16, 2008. Comments can be submitted by mail,
email, or fax to

mercury to be removed. The MSWG Staff Report, its Appendices and
