Center for Civic Participation
Job Announcement: Applications Due July 14, 2008
PROGRAM ASSISTANT FOR STATE VOICES INITIATIVE
The Center for Civic Participation’s State Voices initiative is a multi-year project to support and serve 15-20 state based civic and voter engagement tables. Over the last four years, CCP and its predecessor National Voice have provided more than $7 million in strategic grants to some of the strongest national, state and local organizations in the country. The tools CCP built to foster coordination and efficiency have saved millions of dollars through economies of scale – central voter files, polling, targeting and mapping – and supported hundreds of thousands of voter contacts.
The Program Assistant for the State Voices initiative will work with the CCP’s Executive Director and National Coordinator to develop and implement a plan to support and connect 15-20 nonpartisan state networks or tables of voter and civic engagement organizations. Responsibilities include:
Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Work experience with advocacy organizations and campaigns a plus. Strong writing and communications skills required. Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and QuickBooks programs. Must be organized, high attention to detail, and be able to work effectively under pressure individually and in team-settings. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across multiple communities and in diverse settings are a must, as well as a demonstrated commitment to civic engagement, non-profit capacity building and collaboration.
Compensation: Salary negotiable depending on background and experience. Full benefits package included.
To Apply: Materials accepted until position filled. Apply by July 14, 2008. Send resume and cover letter to Ryan Friedrichs, Executive Director, CCP State Voices, at firstname.lastname@example.org or fax: 313-557-0533.
