Americans need info on mercury availability, toxicity
By Daryl J. Zelenak, D.O.
A recently published opinion editorial by Midland's Environmental Health Services director contained several factual errors and omissions of information concerning mercury, mercury cycling, mercury emissions from coal plants, and information on methylmercury reductions following decreased mercury emission loads. The residents in Midland deserve to be provided with scientific facts concerning mercury, not hype.
Three cheers to Dr. Zelenak for standing up for public health, children and the Great Lakes.
