Obama, McCain campaigns to address Michigan conservation issues at October 16th event


Michigan United Conservation Clubs is proud to announce the 2008 Michigan Out-of-Doors™ Presidential Forum.  Michigan sportsmen, sportswomen, and conservation advocates are encouraged to attend the "town hall" discussion with the campaigns of Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Oakland County Sportsmen's Club in Clarkston.  The Forum is free and open to the public.


Representatives from each campaign will be given an opportunity to address their candidate's position on a variety of issues important to sportsmen and the protection of Michigan's outdoor heritage.  All questions presented for discussion will come from attendees, which may be pre-submitted to MUCC email or in person at the Forum.  The forum will take place in a "town hall" style debate on conservation issues such as:  Access, Habitat, Great Lakes Restoration, 2nd Amendment, FARM Bill Conservation Programs, Pollution Prevention, Energy Policy, Climate Change, Wetlands Conservation, and the effect of the health of the Great Lakes and Sportsmen on the economy.  The forum will be moderated by Jimmy Gretzinger, host of Michigan Out-of-Doors™ television.  


Due to capacity standards, a maximum of 300 attendees will be granted admission to the Forum.  Interested attendees may reserve a ticket to the Forum by contacting Dave Nyberg at dnyberg@mucc.org or (517) 346-6462.

Barack Obama, Michigan United Conservation Clubs and Michigan Out-of-Doors™ television  (Note:  Both campaigns are currently confirming delegated representatives.  A forthcoming announcement will indicate each campaign's representative spokesperson for the Forum.)
