Is this a concern?  Is this another potential Merit Energy Kolka Creek?

Water injection concerns growing

KALKASKA -- Some Kalkaska County residents are concerned about an energy company's plan to flush as much as 124,000 gallons of freshwater per day down an oil well in Kalkaska Township.

Merit Energy Company received permits this year from federal and state regulators to inject water and carbon dioxide into a pair of wells near the intersection of Island Lake and Smith Lake roads, documents show.

Water would be pumped from an underground aquifer at a site less than two miles from the North Branch of the Boardman River.
