Clean
Water Fund and Clean Water Action in Michigan will be hiring
an environmental health campaign coordinator to help develop and
implement the
organization’s environmental health initiatives. We seek an energetic
and
experienced organizer who will work within a leadership team to
spearhead our
environmental health campaigns. Clean
Water Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization providing research, education,
organizing, and technical assistance to strengthen grassroots
environmental
efforts. Clean Water Fund’s work complements that of Clean Water
Action, a
501(c)(4) national organization with more than 235,000 Michigan
members.
The Environmental
Health Campaign Coordinator will:

Play
a lead role in designing environmental health campaigns
in Michigan
·
Coordinate
campaign implementation including building and
supporting coalition activities as well as outreach to and mobilization
of
Clean Water Action members
·
Implement
in-district citizen lobby efforts
·
Make
public presentations and present testimony
·
Prepare
materials and trainings to support community groups
in key areas
·
Build
and sustain diverse campaign coalitions
·
Fundraise
Qualifications:
·
A
minimum of three years of successful professional organizing
experience
·
A
minimum of one year experience leading an environmental,
social justice or election campaign
·
Demonstrated
commitment to environmental health and/or
children's health initiatives
·
Strong
oral and written communication skills; experience preparing
and delivering public presentations
·
Ability
to articulate campaign messages to the media
·
Demonstrated
interpersonal skills including the ability to
work effectively with diverse groups
·
Ability
to prioritize, multi-task and problem-solve in fast
paced, dynamic work environment
·
Research
and strong critical thinking skills; computer
skills
·
Well-organized
and self-motivated
·
Must
be willing to travel to within Michigan
·
Availability
for
evenings and weekends
