transit issues in their hearing on Wednesday. Senate On the floor: SB 222 – A
bill to amend the Recreational Authorities Act to include school districts. In committee: Appropriations Subcommittee on
Agriculture will have a hearing on the FY 09-10 budget next Wednesday
(3/11) at 3:00 pm with focus on: Bovine TB Update
Energy Policy and Public Utilities will
meet on Thursday (3/12) at 1:00 pm for a hearing on: SB 320, SB 326-31, SB 337-39
– Regarding the use of service limiters and procedures for shutting off
utility customers and penalties for non-compliance. Continued discussion regarding the MPSC's annual Status of Electric
Competition report. Health Policy will
meet on Wednesday (3/11) at 9:00 am for a presentation on: Creating a 21st Century Intelligent Health System in Natural Resources and Environmental
Affairs will meet on Wednesday (3/11) at 1:00 pm to take up: SB 256 - A bill to
be introduced that would authorize local units of government to form storm
water utilities
Transportation will
meet Tuesday (3/10) at 1:00 pm for a presentation by MDOT Director Kirk Steudle
on the transportation portion of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
(ARRA). House Passed: HB 4217 – A
bill to require the use of high-efficiency lightbulbs and electronic ballasts
in public facilities. On the calendar: HB 4286 – A
bill to promote hunting on Department of Natural Resources controlled land. HR 31 - A
resolution to encourage the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the
Michigan Public Service Commission to promote Project Safe Passage (limit
lights in urban building in the evening to assist bird migration). In committee: Appropriations: Environmental Quality
Subcommittee will meet on Tuesday (3/10) at 10:30 am to examine
the Executive Recommendation, FY 2009-10 budget. Appropriations: Investigations,
Intergovernmental Affairs and Oversight will meet on Thursday
(3/12) at 9:00 am to look at: - Health Care (various issues) Appropriations: Natural Resources
Subcommittee will meet on Wednesday (3/11) at 8:30 am to
begin decision making work on the Executive Recommendation, FY 2009-10 budget. Energy and Technology will
meet Tuesday (3/10) at 9:00 am to take up: HB 4103 – A
bill to exempt certain certified solar, wind, or water energy conversion
devices from personal property tax. Great Lakes and the Environment will
meet on Thursday (3/12) at 9:00 am for a hearing on : HB 4402 – A
bill to restrict the use of Lindane in the treatment of human lice. And, a presentation by Doug Farquhar, Program Director
Urban Policy will
meet Tuesday (3/11) at 9:00 am to take up: HB 4211 – A
bill to require landlord to give tenants 30-day notice of foreclosure of
property. And a presentation on Land Banks by: Dan Kildee, Genesee County
