Check out GLIN's March SITE OF THE MONTH: the Illinois Department of
Natural Resources
As steward of the state's natural and cultural resources, IDNR has the
responsibility to conserve, preserve and enhance Illinois' resources,
while meeting the outdoor recreation needs of the state's large and
diverse population. Department programs address a wide scope of
concerns, ranging from developing recreational facilities to accommodate
more people on public lands, to protecting natural areas. The department
also manages game and fish populations, while protecting endangered
plant and animal species. IDNR's web site includes a wealth of
information about state parks, outdoor recreation, natural resources and
science, the latest news, even the ability to purchase hunting and
fishing licenses online.
