Schedule---Advisors are scheduled to meet at 3:00 p.m., Monday, 9 June. The
annual meeting will begin 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, 10 June, and adjourn 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, 11 June.
All meeting attendees and their guests are cordially invited to
participate in a guided tour of the Canadian Parliament Buildings and to a
reception, sponsored by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the
Great Lakes Fishery Commission. The tour will begin at 3:55 p.m. on
Tuesday, June 10, in the lobby of the House of Commons. The reception will
immediately follow the tour (5:00 p.m.) at a location in the Parliament
Building to be announced.
Lodging----PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS BEFORE 20 MAY. After this date
rooms may not be available. The Commission has reserved a block of rooms at
the Sheraton Ottawa. Rates are $110 s/d excluding tax. Canadians may
reserve outside the block to obtain the Canadian government rate.
The Sheraton Ottawa is conveniently located in the heart of downtown
Ottawa's business and cultural district, a short walk from Parliament Hill,
Rideau Canal, ByWard market museums galleries and shopping. The Sheraton is
just 9 miles from MacDonald Cartier International Airport.
Transportation----AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE from MacDonald Cartier
International Airport to downtown hotels departs every 30 minutes. The cost
is $10 one-way and takes approximately 25 minutes. TAXI SERVICE costs $20
one-way. Valet parking is available for $15 all day (daily in and out
privileges).
