Job Announcement - GLU Seeks Field Coordinator


Great Lakes United is looking for a candidate to fill
the role of Field Coordinator for the Biodiversity and
Habitat Protection Task Force. Please submit resumes by

The position should be filled by May 15, 1996 if
possible. 

The Field Coordinator will carry out the Task Force's
goals of protecting the Basin's natural areas and its
biological diversity. Current projects include
countering the anti-conservation "wise use" movement,
particularly state "takings" bills and other so-called
"property rights" issues, and increasing the issue of
biological diversity and conservation ethics in Great
Lakes Fishery management. Also, the Field Coordinator
is responsible for issue campaigning on behalf of
member organizations, writing newsletter articles, and
fundraising proposals. 

David Mahony, the current Field Coordinator is leaving
for another job at the end of May.
