NOTE TO CORRESPONDENTS: EPA RESEARCH SHIP AT NAVY PIER ON MEMORIAL DAY

     U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Research Vessel Lake
Guardian will be open to the public on Memorial Day, May 26, from 9 a.m.
to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. at the south dock of Navy Pier in Chicago. Tours
are free and last about 30 minutes. 
     The Lake Guardian is a floating laboratory operated by EPA's Great
Lakes National Program Office to gather ecological information about,
and monitor the Great Lakes.
