Great Lakes Contaminated Sediment Report Now Available

PROGRESS IN THE REMEDIATION OF CONTAMINATED SEDIMENTS IN THE GREAT LAKES - U.S. EPA-GLNPO RELEASES: *REALIZING REMEDIATION*

The U.S. EPA*s Great Lakes National Program Office in Chicago, IL has released a comprehensive report, *Realizing Remediation*, which documents past and current sediment remediation activities in the Great Lakes Basin.  The report provides a synopsis of each sediment remediation project that has taken place in the U.S. Waters of the Great Lakes Region.   Cleanups have taken place at a total of 33 sites from six states with volumes of remediated sediments ranging from 1,300 to 750,00 cubic yards.  The report lists an additional 15 sites from six states where remediation projects are planned in the near future.
