Programmer Analyst (Grade 11) 
$29,701 Minimum

REQUIRED: knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in
college, technical, vocational, or business school in computer science,
data processing, or related field; one to three years of related and
progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in web
development, Arc/View and Arc/Info GIS, use of Avenue Visual Basic, and
Arc Macro Language, Windows NT and UNIX operating systems, data
processing, and systems analysis; working knowledge of Java Script and
HTML programming; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience. DESIRED: bachelor's degree; previous experience with writing
computer documentation, training end users to use software, and public
speaking; excellent communication skills. BASIC FUNCTION: analyzes,
develops, prepares, and documents complex programs and participates in
analysis, design, and review of computer based systems; consults with,
trains, and assists end users; communicates with clients and township
officials at different levels of computer literacy to receive and relate
information clearly about problems, solutions, and suggestions; gives
demonstrations; trains clients to use several software programs,
particularly ArcView; produces documentation for users; evaluates
software for recommendations of future purchase decisions; installs
software; assists programmers and technicians with applications
developed; schedules work independently on multiple projects such as:
Township Information Planning Systems (TIPS) and network web
development; maintains and continues the development of an Interactive
GIS through the Internet; displays data and receives feedback; manages
and instructs employees; works extensively with ArcView and ArcInfo on
both windows NT and UNIX workstations; prepares digital and spatial
data, data conversion, and integration of remotely sensed inputs into a
GIS; designs WebPages for various projects; estimates costs and budget
for fee-for-service projects. Duties associated with this position
involve working on a video display terminal 80 percent of the time. 

This is an off-date position funded for 9 months from date of hire.
