GLTF FYI - GLFWRA
The President signed the Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act
of 1998 on October 19, 1998.
This new public law reauthorizes existing U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service coordination offices for the Great Lakes and sets up a grants
program to implement the recommendations of the Great Lakes Fishery
Resources Restoration Study. This new program allows the State and
tribal directors (or their appointees) to determine which projects
should be priorities for fish and wildlife restoration and authorizes
funding for the projects which they recommend (25% non-Federal
cost-share).
