Due to the high demand for Mercury Pollution Prevention in Michigan: A Report by the Michigan Mercury Pollution Prevention Task Force, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) , Office of the Great Lakes, has reprinted 1,000 extra copies, which are available free of charge. The report, which was originally printed in 1996, is a summary of efforts and recommendations for activities directed at reducing mercury pollution in Michigan. The report identifies initiatives for the general public, health care, dental, electrical and manufacturing, chemical users and manufacturers, and automobile subgroups.
A report on the progress of the Michigan Mercury Pollution Prevention (M2P2) Task Force can be accessed electronically on the Michigan Department of Environmental Quaity, Environmental Assistance Division homepage. The electronic report, which is periodically updated, presents the timetable and progress made in implementing the recommendations of the M2P2 Task Force. Updates will be provided at approximately six month intervals until the project is concluded.
