Job: Freshwater lake research



CANADA'S DEPARTMENT OF FISHERIES AND OCEANS SEEKS THREE POSITIONS IN
WINNIPEG

Three positions at the Research Scientist level will be filled April 1, 1999
at the Freshwater Institute (FWI), Department of Fisheries and Oceans,
Winnipeg, Canada. Postdoctoral experience preferred.* Research will be field
orientated and
carried out at the Experimental Lakes Area (ELA), northwestern Ontario, as
well as other locations in western Canada. Scientists at the ELA are
carrying out whole-lake manipulation experiments, studies of unperturbed
boreal lakes, and their watersheds/airsheds, and in laboratories experiments
at the FWI. Present areas of research at the ELA and FWI include toxic
chemicals, habitat disturbance, climate
change, and acidification recovery. The positions are (1) Fish Ecologist.
(2) Zoobenthic Ecologist, and (3) a Fish Physiologist. Applicants must have
their Ph.Ds.
