ATTENTION Great Lakes researchers!
Be sure your project is included in the 1999 Great Lakes-St. Lawrence
Research Inventory. Use the handy online input form, which now allows
you to update project entries from previous years. This database,
compiled annually by the International Joint Commission, is
used to examine the impact and adequacy of research in the Great Lakes
basin, reveal the inter-relationships between research disciplines and
link them to policy questions.
Ontario's Living Legacy: Biggest expansion of parks and protected areas
in the history of Ontario <http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/oll/>
Ontario Premier Mike Harris has unveiled a Living Legacy strategy that
will add 378 new parks and protected areas, increasing the area covered
by parks and protected areas in Ontario by one third.
Cruising the Great Lakes: Set sail this summer!
Information about cruise activity and ports on the Great Lakes, as well
as ship photos, schedules, services and layouts. Ships featured include
the MV Columbus, Le Levant, Seabourn Pride, Niagara Prince, Nantucket
Clipper and Georgian Clipper.
National Town Meeting for a Sustainable America: Coming to Detroit,
Mich., May 2-5, 1999
This landmark event will showcase best practices that promote
sustainability around the country, with events at the COBO Convention
Center in Detroit and points across America. Sponsored by the
President's Council on Sustainable Development and the Global
Environment & Technology Foundation.
