	for position of
	IAGLR Internet Communications Editor
	Application Deadline: June 30, 1999

The International Association for Great Lakes Research seeks applicants for a
part-time (approximately one day per week) editor for its internet
communications (IAGLR web site and IAGLR membership list-serve).  The duties and
responsibilities for this position would include but not necessarily be limited

1.	Work with the IAGLR webmaster and members of the Publications Committee to
design an Association web site that is attractive and functional.
2.	Receive and review information from the members (and others, including other
Great Lakes lists) for posting on the IAGLR web site and list-serve.
3.	Transmit acceptable information to the IAGLR webmaster in the appropriate
format for inclusion in the IAGLR web site.
4.	Review the web layout prior to final posting for completeness and accuracy.
5.	Screen proposed list-serve items for relevance to IAGLR and prepare a weekly
IAGLR EMAIL NOTES that includes all appropriate news, announcements, and other
information, and post on the Association list-serve.
6.	Work with the IAGLR Science Advisory Committee and the Publications Committee
to use the list-serve and web site in the most appropriate and effective way to
disseminate Great Lakes research findings and their implications.
7.	Participate in the establishment of an IAGLR web-based discussion board and
moderate the discussions.

The Internet Communications Editor would report to the Publications Committee
and would be expected to supervise the work of the Association's webmaster
(systems administrator for web site and list-serve).  It is desirable for a
candidate to have a good working knowledge of Great Lakes research and issues,
complemented by experience in web languages and in developing web pages.

motivation and relevant skills and experience for this position, a resume, and a
