---
To whom it May Concern,
The U.S. EPA is collaborating with groups in 14 tributaries around
Lake Michigan to evaluate monitoring activies at the local level. The
participating organizations will assess monitoring being conducted by
local agencies, utilities, industries, citizen groups and other entities
in their watersheds. The Great Lakes Commission also is assessing
information collected on the Lake Michigan tributaries through state and
federal monitoring programs. A database of monitoring activities will be
developed to facilitate broader use of monitoring information and to
help decisionmakers and resource managers at all levels target limited
financial resources to critical monitoring needs.
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Sea Grant Office is in charge
of contacting the local monitoring groups in the Milwaukee, Sheboygan,
and Menominee River Basins. If you are currently conducting a
monitoring program in one of the three river basins listed, and have not
been contacted, please e-mail Nate Hawley (nbhawley@hotmail.com). Keep
in mind that we are including all types (formal and informal) of
monitoring for any medium (air, land, and water) as long as it is done
within the Milwaukee, Sheboygan, or Menominee River
Basins.

If you have any questions reguarding this effort please feel free to
