ENERGY/INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY POLICY ANALYST
-------------------------------------------
     The Northeast-Midwest Institute is looking for a policy analyst to
focus on industrial efficiency and productivity.  The staffer will work
primarily with a senior policy analyst to coordinate the activities of the
Northeast Regional Center for Innovation, which directs inventors and
innovators to public-sector resources that can help commercialize their
products.  Tasks will include direct consultation with inventors, writing
case studies, and organizing informational conferences.  The individual
also will assist on other Institute efficiency efforts.

     The policy analyst should have a strong background in technology
policy, have good writing skills, and be able to work with a broad
assortment of individuals.  The annual salary will be approximately
$45,000, plus a good benefits package.


ENERGY RESEARCH ASSISTANT
-------------------------
     The Institute is seeking a research assistant to help three policy
analysts advance energy efficiency.  The research assistant will focus on
innovative energy technologies, utility restructuring, and industrial
energy efficiency.  He or she will conduct policy research, help organize
conferences and Capitol Hill briefings, enrich the Institute's web site,
and manage contact and press lists.

     Preference will be given to candidates having technology expertise
and/or Capitol Hill experience.  The research assistant also should be a
good writer and well organized.  The annual salary will be approximately
$28,000, plus a good benefits package.


BROWNFIELDS/SMART GROWTH POLICY ANALYST
---------------------------------------
     The Institute also is looking for a policy analyst to work in a
four-person team on brownfield reuse and infill development.  The policy
analyst will help the team complete a guidebook for local practitioners on
smart growth, write a series of publications on brownfield cleanup and
reuse, and monitor state and federal action on infill development.
Northeast-Midwest staff also assist the Senate Smart Growth Task Force.

     Preference will be given to candidates having environmental and
Capitol Hill experience.  The policy analyst should be an excellent writer.
 The annual salary will be approximately $45,000, plus a good benefits
package.


BROWNFIELDS/SMART GROWTH RESEARCH ASSISTANT
-------------------------------------------
     The Institute seeks a research assistant to be part of its brownfield/
smart growth team.  The research assistant will monitor state and federal
actions on these issues and assist the team on its writing and policy
projects.  He or she also will conduct policy research, help organize
conferences and Capitol Hill briefings, enrich the Institute's web site,
and manage contact and press lists.

     Preference will be given to candidates having environmental and
Capitol Hill experience.  The research assistant should be well organized
and a good writer.  The annual salary will be approximately $28,000, plus a
good benefits package.
