GLIN==> National Ocean Science Bowl: Urgent call for question assistance

Greetings All Marine Educators!

As many of you may be aware, we are now entering the 3rd year for the
National Ocean Sciences Bowl, a rapid-fire, question and answer academic
competition for high school students. The national coordinators at the
Consortium for Oceanographic Research and Education (CORE) currently have
about 6000 questions in their database. However, they need to collect one
more years worth of questions to keep the competition fresh.
They are seeking 3000 new questions and to date have about 600. They are
offering compensation for accepted questions. Details are at the following
two web sites:

http://core.cast.msstate.edu/nosb.html

http://core.cast.msstate.edu/NOSBadvice.html

If you know of anyone who may be interested in assisting (marine science
graduate students, scientists, high school teachers, etc.), please send
along this information as soon as possible and have them contact Amy
Lorenzen directly at CORE at alorenzen@mail.brook.edu.

They would like to have a complete collection of questions by mid-fall at
the latest.

Thanks for helping to spread the word!

Sincerely,
Susan Haynes (804) 684-7735
