NATIONAL ORV CONFERENCE and Lobby Week
April 7-12

Please mark your calendar to travel to Washington D.C. this coming April
7-12 for an important opportunity to influence national policy on
Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs).

The growing threat of ORVs to wildlife and wildlands makes it imperative
that the federal land management agencies strengthen their policies to
end ORV abuses. Petitions filed recently with the Forest Service and
Park Service, written by Wildlands CPR, The Wilderness Society, and the
Blue Water Network and endorsed by over 100 national and grassroots
groups, seek significant reforms.

Wildlands CPR, Friends of the Earth, and American Lands, with support
from several others groups concerned about the impact of ORVs on public
lands, are sponsoring a national conference of ORV activists this April
7-12 to demonstrate support for the petitions, lobby the Administration
and land management agencies for stronger ORV policies, inform Members
of Congress about the issues, and plan strategies.

Please plan to join us in Washington for the Conference and Lobby Week.
Tentative plans call for one day of the conference to be open to agency,
Congressional staff, and other interested parties, with the remainder of
the conference for activist strategy discussions and lobby training.
The Conference will be followed by 2-3 days for organized visits by
participants with key Administration and Congressional decision makers.

Don't miss this important opportunity to raise national awareness of the
threat of ORVs, take the message to Washington about the need for strong
action, and be a part of an exciting campaign that can make a difference
for wildlife and wild places.
