The University of Akron Press recently published a new book "Lake Erie
Rehabilitated: Controlling Cultural Eutrophication, 1960ís-1990ís" by
William McGucken.

During the 1960ís, inland bodies of water in North American and Europe
went through a dangerous transformation from nutrients being dumped into
the lakes and causing cultural eutrophication. These overnourished
lakes transformed the waterís ecosystem. The book talks about the
cultural eutrophication of Lake Erie with phosphorus as the primary
cause of the incident. McGucken presents a comprehensive account of the
last three decades and demonstrates the importance of maintaining an
environmental balance. Those interested in the ecosystem, environmental
issues, and environmental regulations will find this book appealing.

The paperback costs $29.95 and the cloth costs $49.95. To obtain more
