Raising Redtails

	A popular fishing bait, the redtail chub minnow is on the decline in the wild. 
To help meet consumer demand and to preserve wild populations, Minnesota Sea 
Grant and several partners have pioneered methods to grow redtails in captivity.

Grant Time

	Scientists, it's time to apply for Minnesota Sea Grant funding for projects 
during 2001-2003.  Scientists must be affiliated with a Minnesota academic 
institution. The deadline for letters of intent is March 17, 2000.

Bonanza for Lake Superior:
Seiches Do More Than Move Water

	Find out what the word "seiche" means and how seiches impact the biology of 
Lake Superior.

Lakes are Impacted by EMPACT

	Sea Grant and partners received a $425,000 grant from the U.S. Environmental 
Protection Agency to make Minnesota lake data more available to the public.

Where are They Now?

	This is a profile of David (Moe) Nelson, a former Sea Grant-funded graduate 
student who now works as a marine biologist with the National Oceanic and 
Atmospheric Administration.
