GLIN==> Coastal GeoTools '01 Reminder - Abstracts due 8/15/00

Dear colleague:

Just a reminder that the due date for Coastal GeoTools '01 abstract
submittals is rapidly approaching.

Coastal GeoTools is a conference designed to promote the understanding and
use of spatial technologies such as geographic information systems (GIS),
remote sensing, the Global Positioning System (GPS), and the Internet to
enhance coastal management.  The conference will be held January 8 to 11,
2001 in Charleston, South Carolina, and will include more than 60 expert
presentations, an interactive poster session, hands-on GIS, GPS, and other
training, a Share Fair, special interest meetings, commercial exhibits, and
an evening reception at the new South
Carolina Aquarium (http://www.scaquarium.org/).

We encourage you to submit a short abstract for an oral or poster
presentation.  Conference topics will include:

Hazard mitigation
Shoreline change
Watershed planning
Habitat characterization
Regional restoration planning
Land use and community development
Port and waterfront planning
Spatial modeling
Application of new remote sensing technologies
Coastal National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI)

Abstracts are due by August 15, 2000.  Conference proceedings will be
published on CD-ROM.
