The Institute of Water Research at MSU has been working with professors from
various departments and practicing professionals to develop a series of four
modules that may be taken over the Internet for college credit or to obtain
a professional certificate. The program began in January 2000 with the
offering of the first module.

Two modules, Watershed Concepts and Building and Implementing Watershed
Management Plans, will be offered this fall semester (Aug. 28- Dec. 15). The
first module is an introduction to the foundations of watershed hydrology
and management while the second module takes an integrated approach to
watershed management and examines scenarios across Michigan and the U.S.

To learn more about or enroll in these courses visit the Institute of Water
Research Website at www.iwr.msu.edu <http://www.iwr.msu.edu> and click on
“Virtual Watershed Course.”
