GLIER Post-Doctoral Fellowships Available

Deadline: 5 January 2001

The GLIER Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program provides Fellowships tenable for
one year, with renewal for a second year subject to satisfactory performance
and availability of co-funding. Each Fellow is sponsored by a
GLIER faculty member who provides at least 50% of the salary, while GLIER
provides $15000 per annum plus 9% benefits. The Fellow works in the
Sponsor's research program. These Fellowships are open to candidates of any
nationality, regardless of current immigration status in Canada.
Applications from women and minorities are encouraged. Information about
GLIER is available at www.uwindsor.ca/glier/

The current competition closes on January 5, 2001, for Fellowships
commencing during the next six months. Applicants are encouraged to make
contact with potential sponsors prior to submitting applications. However
all applications received by the closing date will be considered. In this
round we particularly seek candidates with research interests in aquatic
invertebrate ecology (Dr. Jan Ciborowski, sponsor, cibor@uwindsor.ca), in
organohalogen contaminants and biotransformations in biota (Dr. Robert
Letcher, sponsor, letcher@uwindsor.ca), in invasion ecology, with interests
in freshwater or marine invertebrate communities or GIS and mathematical
modeling of invasions (Dr. Hugh MacIsaac, sponsor, hughm@uwindsor.ca), and
in development of enzyme-based waste water treatment methods (Drs. Keith E.
Taylor, and J.K Bewtra, sponsors, taylor@uwindsor.ca).

Intending applicants should submit a brief statement of research interests,
current Curriculum Vitae, and arrange for three letters of reference to be
sent by January 5, 2001 to:
