Invasion Ecology of the Great Lakes - A One-Day Conference

will be presented by the Water Resources Research Institute of Kent State
University in Kent, Ohio.  The conference will be held on 4 April in the
Kent Student Center, Room 306, beginning at 1:30 p.m.  The intent is to
inform participants of the current status and effects of recent invasions of
non-indigenous species (zebra mussels, quagga mussels, ruffe, gobys, etc.)
into the Great Lakes.

The conference will feature a poster session, short invited papers, and two
Keynote Speakers (Prof. Daniel Simberloff and Dr. Tom Nalepa):

1:30 p.m. Short Invited Papers and Contributed Poster Session

4:00 p.m. Dr. Tom Nalepa (GLERL/NOAA, Ann Arbor, MI) "Impact of Recent
    Invasions on Nearshore and Offshore Communities of the Great Lakes"

7:00 p.m.  Prof. Dan Simberloff (Univ. Tennessee, Knoxville) : "What to Do
About              Invasive Species: Are We Doomed to a Planet of Weeds?"

The conference is free and open to the public. Registration can be done via
