GLIN==> Wreck of Premier Luxury Yacht Determined Eligible for National

The Rosinco has been determined eligible for inclusion in the
National Register of Historic Places and meets the criteria of the Abandoned
Shipwreck Act.

Completed in 1916, the luxury yacht Rosinco reflects a turning point in
recreational boating, when elaborate pleasure boats became symbols of
prosperity and industrial success for affluent businessmen throughout the
Great Lakes. She is also a rare example of early twentieth century marine
engineering. Archaeological investigation is likely to reveal important
information regarding ship design, decorative fittings, furnishings, and
living accommodations of the era.

The Rosinco is owned and managed by the State of Wisconsin.
