GLIN==> Greenways Speaker Series - Sagainaw Bay Greenways Collaborative



The Saginaw Bay Greenways Collaborative, a Michigan based partnership of
local private and public agencies and organizations, announces an
informative series of presentations on the economic, social, environmental,
and recreational benefits of Greenways for the Saginaw Bay Watershed.  We
hope you will be able to attend.

All presentations are free and open to the public.  No registration is
required.

Thursday, May 17 - Dr. Paul Zwick:  "Lessons from Florida and Beyond:
Ecology and Greenway Planning” at 7 pm at the Saginaw Bay Visitor Center at
the Bay City State Recreation Area.  Dr. Zwick is Professor and Chairman,
Department of Urban and Regional Planning, and Director of the GeoPlan
Center at the University of Florida.

Thursday, May 24 - Ms. Cynthia Whiteford:  “The Benefits of Protecting Open
Space and Greenways- Examples from Watersheds Nationwide” at 7 pm at the
Saginaw Center in downtown Saginaw.  Ms. Whiteford is the Regional Director
and Vice President of The Trust for Public Land, Midwest Region.

Thursday, May 31 - Dr. Chuck Nelson:  “Economics of Greenways” at 7 pm at
the Chippewa Nature Center, Midland.  Dr. Nelson is Associate Professor in
the Park, Recreation and Tourism Resources Department at Michigan State
University.
