Science teacher! We hope you haven't settled on all of your summer plans,
yet!

There is a unique opportunity still available for Minnesota and Wisconsin
teachers to learn about oceanography and coastal processes while studying
at University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Coast Research Laboratory.
The two week course being offered will get you out onto the Gulf aboard a
research vessel, exploring the tidal beaches, and into the labs to learn
content and methods you can bring back to your classrooms. The course is
known as COAST:PILOT and details can be found on the web at
http://www.aquarium.usm.edu/coast.htm. You can also contact Bruce Munson
at the MN Sea Grant Program for more information (phone 218-726-8106).

The fully supported program provides travel expenses, a stipend, room &
board, resource materials and three semester credits. The program is
looking for a midwestern leadership team that would consist of an
elementary, middle school, and high school teacher. A team representing a
single district would be desirable, but a individuals representing several
districts would be accepted and formed into a midwestern team.

Check out the details or call MN Sea Grant to learn more!
