---
The Mid Appalachian Council (MAC) of the Izaak Walton League of America -- a
five-state regional body active on watershed issues -- will discuss control
of exotic invasive species in the Eastern Great Lakes and connecting waters
at the third annual MAC conference, June 1-2 in Syracuse, NY.

Rep. Sherwood Boehlert, of New York's 23rd District, will speak at the
conference, as well as other invited guests and speakers.

Conference participants will visit sites infested by zebra mussels, water
chestnuts, exotic fish and cormorants, discuss exotic species control and
prevention with state and U.S. experts, learn about local and national
policy and programs, and recommend actions the Izaak Walton League should
take to combat invasives.

Registration for the conference costs $25. For more information, contact Jim
Baird at the Izaak Walton League, 301-548-0150 extension 207, jimb@iwla.org.
