Posted on behalf of Ben Gramling <Ben.Gramling@SSCHC.ORG>

---
The RFP posted at www.mkedcd.org/valley/guidelines.htm seeks a qualified
firm or assembled team to manage the creation of a set of sustainable
guidelines for the Menomonee River Valley in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

To ensure fairness and consistency, only written questions about the
Sustainable Design Guidelines for the Menomonee River Valley RFP will be
accepted by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee
(valley@mkedcd.org OR fax 414.286.5778 ATTN Brian Reilly). Answers to
questions received by September 3, 2001 will be posted by September 7 at
www.mkedcd.org/valley/QandA.htm. Answers to any additional questions
received by September 14 will be posted by September 20. No questions will
be accepted after September 14.

The 1200-acre Menomonee River Valley is adjacent to downtown Milwaukee and
is surrounded by the most densely populated neighborhoods in Wisconsin. In
recent decades industrial production and employment in the 'Valley' has
declined sharply, resulting in underutilized land. To reverse these trends
and improve the economic and environmental conditions in this area, efforts
are beginning to focus on "sustainable" restoration and redevelopment.

To ensure that new Valley developments set a high quality standard in both
aesthetics and environmental performance the Redevelopment Authority of City
of Milwaukee, the non-profit Menomonee Valley Partners Inc., and the
Sixteenth Street Community Health Center are collaborating to create
Sustainable Design Guidelines for the Menomonee Valley.
