The BMS Hosts Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

The Buffalo Museum of Science (www.sciencebuff.org) and Tifft Nature Preserve
( www.sciencebuff.org/tifft.html ) proudly present an evening with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
"Our Environmental Destiny" on Sunday, October 21, 7:30 PM, at Kleinhans Music Hall.  Mr. Kennedy's reputation as a resolute defender of the environment stems from a litany of successful legal actions.  Prosecuting governments and companies for polluting the Hudson River and Long Island sound.  Winning settlements for the Hudson Riverkeepers.  Arguing cases to expand citizen access to the shoreline.  And suing sewage treatment plants to force compliance with the Clean Water Act.  Mr. Kennedy serves as chief prosecuting attorney for the Hudson Riverkeepers and senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council.  He is also a clinical professor and supervising attorney at  the Environmental Litigation Clinic at Pace University School of Law in New York.

He has worked on environmental issues around the globe.  He is credited with leading the fight to protect New York City's water supply.  The New York City watershed agreement, which he negotiated on behalf of environmentalists and New York City watershed consumers, is regarded as an international model in stakeholder consensus negotiations and sustainable development.
Tickets go on sale to Museum members on Monday, September 17 and to the general public on Monday, September 24. Tickets are $20 each.  Please call the Kleinhans Music Hall ticket office, 716-885-5000.

The Museum will also host a pre-lecture dining experience with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. at Henry's Restaurant on Kleinhan's lower level, 5:30-7:30 PM.  A limited number of 140 reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The cost is $140 per person.  Includes dinner by Oliver's, a signed copy of Mr. Kennedy's book, The Riverkeepers, and premium seating at the speaking engagement.  Please call Joy Wrona, 716-896-5200, ext. 310 for reservations.
